SF Decorator Showcase 2024

San Francisco

Lexie Saine Design and SCIC Italia San Francisco collaborated for the 2024 45th Annual San Francisco Designer Showcase, seizing the opportunity to design Her Closet—a space beyond a wardrobe, envisioned as a serene haven where tranquility meets design. Using a monochromatic palette with varied textures on the trim, walls, ceiling, vanity, and closet, we proved that a small space doesn’t need to be white to feel expansive. This intimate retreat was designed for her to unwind, reflect, and showcase cherished treasures, transforming her closet from an afterthought into a centerpiece of her home.

  • For the 2024 San Francisco Decorator Showcase, I unveiled Her Closet in collaboration with SCIC San Francisco, a space I imagined not simply as storage, but as a sanctuary of beauty, intimacy, and ritual.

The idea was simple yet profound: a closet that was more than storage. I wanted to create a retreat, a place where she could slip away, close the door, and simply be. To me, a small footprint doesn’t call for bright white walls to “feel bigger.” Instead, I chose to envelop the room in a monochromatic palette by layering textures across walls, trim, cabinetry, and ceiling to create richness without excess. The effect was immersive, awakening the senses and evoking warmth, sophistication, and quiet luxury. Every surface was meant to invite touch, every detail to whisper indulgence.

Central to the design was my collaboration with SCIC San Francisco, whose beautifully crafted wardrobe system became the foundation of the space. Their craftsmanship allowed me to integrate custom storage seamlessly, elevating function while supporting my vision of a deeply personal retreat.

I wanted this to be a space where she could savor a glass of wine at the end of the day or prepare for the morning ahead. The treasures she displayed weren’t about impressing others but about honoring herself.  They are objects infused with memory and meaning.

By carefully curating materials, finishes, and light, I transformed what is often an overlooked corner of the home into something far greater: a private sanctuary, an inner world of comfort, elegance, and self-expression.
